Museum of Lakeland Life


Museum of Lakeland Life, situated in the stable block of Abbot Hall Art Gallery tells the story of how Lakeland folk lived and entertained themselves in the Lake District from the 18th century, before cars and railways. There are recreated farmhouse rooms and workshops along with artefacts and photographs. Also on display is a recreation of Arthur Ransome´s study, complete with personal possessions, telling the story of his fascination with the Lakes.
