Dove Cottage & the Wordsworth Museum
Dove Cottage was the inspirational home of the poet William Wordsworth between the years 1799 and 1808, his prolific and important years as a poet. Now in the possession of The Wordsworth Trust, it is part of the nationally acclaimed Centre for British Romanticism. A designated Museum and multi award winning Collections and Research Centre house 90% of Wordsworth´s surviving manuscripts along with a collection of over 4000 named writers and artists including Coleridge, Scott, Keats and Turner. A contempoary gallery hosts exhibitions by leading artists and an extensive educational programme runs during school holidays.
