The Science Museum opened in 1857 and has over 40 galleries where visitors can experience the major scientific advances of the last 300 years. The largest museum of its kind with the world´s finest collections illustrating the history and contemporary practice of science, technology, medicine and industry. It is one of the most hands-on and interactive museums in London and also has a state of the art IMAX 3D cinema and simulators.
