Geffrye Museum
Set in former almshouses, the Geffrye Museum presents the changing style of the English Domestic interior through a series of 11 period rooms from 1600 to the present day. One of London“s best-loved museums, the Geffrye is named after the former Lord Mayor of London, Robert Geffrye, who founded the almshouses in 1715. Situated in an area that was the centre of London“s furniture trade, the museum houses fine collections of furniture from all over Britain along with paintings and decorative arts. The displays are complemented by the attractive gardens, including a walled herb garden and a series of period gardens.
