Florence Nightingale Museum
The Florence Nightingale Museum, dedicated to Florence Nightingale, is world famous for her influence on nursing, she founded the first ever nursing school at St Thomas´s in 1860. The Museum, opened in 1989, tells the story of her life with a large display of her personal items including childhood souvenirs, her dress and furniture from her houses. There is a small military history collection of souvenirs from the Crimean War, including her medals and military nursing uniforms from Scutari Hospital. She became the first woman to receive the Order of Merit in 1907. Also on display is a small nursing history collection
