The Courtauld Gallery


The Courtauld Gallery has one of the most important and best-loved small collections in the country, including world-famous Impressionist and post-Impressionist paintings. It was established in 1932 by Samuel Courtauld and is now housed in the splendid Somerset House. On display in the early galleries are works by Rubens, Bellini, Botticelli and Tiepolo. The main attractions include masterpieces by Manet, Renoir, Monet, Degas, Cézanne, Gaugin and Toulouse-Lautrec and fine examples of the 20th century British School. The Courtauld Gallery is one of the world´s leading Institutes of teaching and research into the history and conservation of art.
