Taychreggan Hotel
The Taychreggan is a perfect hideaway from the stresses of daily life be it for a couple of nights or for longer Taychreggan is sure to delight. Ideal for a romantic getaway or as a base for exploring the mountains of Argyll. Log fires, deep cosy sofas, comfortable rooms at prices to suit your budget and an award-winning AA 2 Rosette restaurant means that your stay at Taychreggan will delight you and leave you feeling refreshed and totally relaxed. Set in 40 acres of gardens and woodland on the banks of Loch Awe and down a long and winding road 7 miles from the nearest shop, it is guaranteed to be the place for you to recharge your batteries. The mobile phone signal is limited and requires a walk down to the jetty, so if you really want to cut yourself off then this is the place for you. Our knowlegeable staff are on hand to help plan your days if you are feeling energetic from fishing to stalking or historical activites such as museums and castles, there is a lot to do if you are so inclined. Whatever your chosen activity a warm welcome awaits you at the end of your day out. You can of course just sit by the fire and have afternoon tea served if you feel like doing nothing! Taychreggan is known for its exclusive use weddings, the ceremony can be held in the hotel or just the reception, either way your day will be magical and one to be treasured for years to come. The wedding co-ordinator can help you plan your day and your menu to ensure all your guests are relaxed and enjoy spending this special time with you. Bedrooms at this recently renovated 17th century drovers inn are each unique with beautiful fabrics, luxurious toiletries, fluffy bathrobes and high specification bathrooms along with flat screen TVs, bottled water, tea and coffee making tray, sherry, magazines, hairdryer - the list goes on. Twin, kingsize or even four poster beds are available in suites, junior suites or standard rooms. Many of the rooms have loch views and there is nothing more special than waking up to the view of the loch outside your window. Breakfast is served in the dining room and you can gaze out over the loch as you enjoy the warm toast made from home made bread, and home made croissants along with the home made jam and marmalade before you tuck into a traditional fried breakfast. If you fancy something a bit lighter then you can have eggs anyway you like them or perhaps some kedgeree, actually again the list is endless. Dinner at the Taychreggan is a wonderful experience and the five course table d'hote menu changes daily with a wine list that compliments the menu and our staff on hand to offer advice and assistance when choosing. From the minute you arrive at Taychreggan to the minute you leave you will feel relaxed and looked after every step of the way and we look forward to welcoming you soon.
