Middlethorpe Hall & Spa hotel

Built in 1699, Middlethorpe Hall (now part of the National Trust) is an impressive William III country house close to York city and set in 20 acres of award-winning gardens and parkland alongside York Race Course. The Hall has been expertly restored, and the magnificent reception rooms have been decorated with antiques and fine paintings consistent with the period of the house. The oak paneled dining room overlooks sweeping lawns and ha-ha, offering a menu that is quite irresistible. Rooms in the main house and C18th Courtyard are decorated with classical flair and come with fresh flowers, homemade biscuits and fluffy dressing gowns.
