The Grange Hotel, built in 1829 is a classic Regency townhouse, formerly known as Bootham Grange. There are thirty six bedrooms including three superb four posters and a well appointed suite with its own sitting room, they are all well equipped to suit the needs of business and leisure guests alike. The award winning Ivy Brasserie has an established reputation as one of the best dining venues in the North of England. "The Grange has been converted out of two Regency townhouses built in 1829. The pair are visually knitted together by luxuriant ivy. In fact the hotel’s 2 AA rosette restaurant, The Ivy , takes its name from this foliage. Racing murals line the restaurant walls. There’s also a New York Grill in the old wine cellars. From The Grange it’s a pleasant walk down to York’s medieval city walls."
