The genuine 14th century Langley Castle is set in a 12 acre woodland estate with brush-mown lawns, restored to a magnificent and comfortable hotel. All guest rooms are luxuriously appointed, some Feature rooms in the main Castle have sauna, spa baths and window seats set into 7ft walls. The food served in the Rosette awarded Josephine restaurant is of the highest order, making the most of fresh, local produce, with fish and game a speciality. Langley is perfect for discovering the delights of Hadrian´s Wall and other local attractions. The exclusive nature of the castle makes Langley Winner of the One North East tourism awards for ´Best Small Hotel 2006´, gaining Silver in the 2007 national finals.
Langley Castle is part of the following Editors' Picks:
The Top Ten Historic Hotels on the Scottish Border by Adrian Mourby
"Langley Castle was attacked in 1405 by Henry IV when he was fighting the rebellious Northumbrian Percy family, an incident that Shakespeare dramatised. Left a ruin, the castle was restored in the nineteenth century by a local antiquarian. During World War II it was used as a barracks but since becoming a hotel has won North East Tourism's award for ´Best Small Hotel’."

"This 14th-century castle provides the splendid setting for Christmas in the Northumberland countryside. And the team of innovative chefs at its 2 AA Rosette restaurant can be depended upon to rustle up a delicious Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. Book the “Langley Christmas Experience” and you can spread the festive joy across three nights from 24 December, with cocktail parties and family entertainment guaranteed to beat off the boredom."
