Gilpin Hotel & Lake House is set in the craggy green countryside of the southern Lake District. Surrounded by moors, woodland and country gardens, this family-run hotel is perfectly situated far from the crowds, but a stone´s throw from the breathtaking lakes and fells, and almost opposite Windermere Golf Club ´the miniature Gleneagles´. All rooms are luxurious, with crisp white linen, sumptuous bathrooms, exquisite fabrics and each of the Garden Suites has its own garden and cedarwood hot tub. The restaurant has a Michelin Star. Relaxed and unhurried, there are no weddings, conferences or children under seven, just warm smiles, fresh flowers, real fires and friendly unpretentious service.
