Overview

The Old Coastguard is situated at the edge of the iconic Cornish harbour of Mousehole and run by brothers Charles & Edmund Inkin, it sits immediately above the sea, with a palm lined garden running down towards the rocks. It has 14 bedrooms, nearly all looking out over glistening inland waters, with views to St. Michael's Mount and the Lizard.

What makes a stay at The Old Coastguard unique?

Described as a 'Restaurant with rooms in one of Britain's most beautiful places'. The Coastguard has fourteen bedrooms, nearly all looking out over glistening Cornish inland waters, with views to St. Michael's Mount and the Lizard. And a dining room and outside terrace sitting atop a tropical garden that slopes down to the harbour wall.

What are the rooms and facilities on offer at The Old Coastguard?

Each bedroom has a view of the sea, many with nothing between it, the garden and a few rocks. Some enjoy a mere glimpse, others a astonishing panorama from a top floor balcony. From many, the hypnotic St. Clement's Isle takes the eye, resolutely distracting one's gaze from The Lizard, St. Michael's Mount and departing fishing boats.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Mousehole area?

The Old Coastguard is a seaside hotel in the fishing village of Mousehole, near the beaches and gardens of West Cornwall, the Minack Theatre and the artists' studios of Newlyn, Penzance and St. Ives.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

A traditional Brasserie menu that takes good ingredients and gives them a very simple but classic treatment. A menu that changes a little through the seasons. There are scrubbed pine or oak tables on the Upper Deck and in the bar, some perfect for groups of 10 or more. Nearly all with views to St. Clement's Isle. On the Sun Deck there are sofas with just a pane of glass between you and the palm tree lined gardens. There's also a garden terrace looking down at the sun-dappled sea.
