Review of West Lodge Park Hotel

Dear Andrew
I would like to thank you so much for your hospitality for Andrew and myself. We had a great walk around the arboretum in the Autumn. I realised how the red berried plants are all placed together and are dramatic at this time of year!
The room was great and the food lovely. It was really good to eat in the restaurant as we had evening meetings in London. We had a constructive time planning ahead for St MAry's and then went wodn to Kensington to hear Tom Wright speak which was a first for me.

Thank you so much. It really helped us to get away and think

Every blessing

Dear Mr. Beale,

I just wanted to write to say a huge Thank You to you and all your staff who took care of us from arrival to departure. Unexpectedly our babysitter had to let us down so our little chap Alfie (19 months) had to come too. But this did not phase any of your team. So, understandably when your hotel's card said to identify who I thought was outstanding...I had to write "All". It is lovely to have one or two super staff members when running a business and relying on them, but to have a whole team...that is indeed lucky. I can only imagine you look after them very well indeed. I would suggest not a Caribbean holiday, nor a pay rise for these gentlemen and ladies, but a tax-free bonus of sorts - perhaps asking them individually.

Anyway, my praise does not stop there I am afraid.   I want to say a resounding well done for your produce and products being sourced from England and locally. This is splendid to see indeed.

You and your family clearly have a fantastic business ethos indeed, so keep up the good work. I appreciate running such a delightful venue takes a great deal of time so I will keep this email brief.

A personal request, if I may?   I was admiring the curtains in our room and would be grateful to know who you commissioned for these as I have never been able to find any curtain makers locally who can produce such a superb and lightweight black out curtain.

We look forward to staying with you again and also partaking in an Afternoon tea some time too.

With all good wishes to you and your team,

Jennifer Grocock

Dear Mr. Hall

On behalf of Mr. & Mrs. Briault and Mr. & Mrs. Bradley who stayed at your hotel over the Easter Holiday, I wish to thank you and your staff for making our stay really exceptional.

Nothing was too much trouble and although the weather was ghastly, the staff were polite, always had a cheery word and helped to make our week-end enjoyable.

Your receptionists - Fiz, Emma C and Andy Sivi - your doorman Prakash - and James (Restaurant) deserve a special mention - they did you proud.

We look forward to staying with you again soon.

Regards

Sheila A. Bradley

Dear Mr Beale

I just wanted to say thank you for a wonderful stay at West Lodge Park.

My wife and I have just returned from a travelzoo experience at West Lodge Park. We had a wonderful relaxing anniversary break. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and we very much enjoyed sunny window seat over looking the gardens, in our room 57.

We look forward to returning in the future.

Kind regards

Mel & Alex Maidment

Dear Mr Beale,

I am writing to thank you for a wonderful stay at West Lodge Park Hotel on Friday the 6th of May.

I was the lucky winner of your Internet competition for a one night Bed and Breakfast stay. I wanted to tell you personally that we loved the hotel and had a fabulous stay and will be telling our friends and colleagues all about this gem of a hotel.

I wanted to share our positive experience, so have left the following review on Trip Advisor:-

“Delightful stay in a fabulous hotel!”
"My husband and I had a wonderful stay at West Lodge Park Hotel.
After driving up the long and very beautiful driveway, it was all looking very promising and expectations were high.
We were allocated Room No. 8, a Classic Room, which had beautiful views over the grounds and was tastefully decorated with a very comfortable bed.
Check in was easy and the Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
It was a hot day so we appreciated the complimentary Harrogate water in the room and made use of the tea / coffee making facilities, the biscuits were delicious!
Loved the Gilchrist and Soames complimentary toiletries in the room.
We enjoyed the mild evening weather with a pre-dinner drink sitting outside the Terrace Bar, it was peaceful and we enjoyed watching the birds and looking at the stunning gardens, super relaxing!
We had booked a table at the Mary Beale Restaurant, the food, service and ambiance were excellent, my beef fillet was delicious. There was a gentle happy buzz about the restaurant, it felt like a special dining experience and one that I hope to repeat in the future, perfect for a special occasion.
Breakfast was great, we had a full english and good strong coffee, there was also a selection of fruits and cereals.
Overall we had a fabulous stay at West Lodge Park Hotel, it has left me with lovely memories and I look forward to returning soon."

Thank you once again for enabling us to have this wonderful experience.

Kind regards

Alison and Edward McBride

Good evening Sandra and Dave,

Tom and I wanted to say how wonderfully welcoming and helpful was Fiz this evening,

Within a few minutes of our arrival and over and above the call of duty, Fiz kindly printed out our boarding passes for our flight to Hamburg tomorrow and delivered them to our door.

Please pass on our thanks to Fiz and may it be noted that Fiz is a fine member of West Lodge staff,

Thank you everyone,

John and Tom Gilbert

Andrew
I know your email address is provided primarily for those customers that
wish to complain and I should be addressing the general manager for any
thanks to your staff that are due but I wanted to come to you directly.

I stayed at your West Lodge Park Hotel ( as I will be frequently from now
until xmas) this week on Monday and Tuesday. On Tuesday morning I, in my
hotel room, couldn't find a diamond ring that was very precious to me.
Having worked myself into a flap, your on duty housekeeper arrived to
help/search/reassure and generally feel my pain. I found the ring
eventually and didn't have time to seek her out personally to thank her.

The thing that struck me is that she genuinely cared. I stay in lots of
hotels through my line of work and can't say I find that many folk that
care. Generally Im left in no doubt that they see it purely as a job and
that i come as part of their day to day angst. Your housekeeper wasn't of
that ilk at all.

I'm sorry I don't know her name but I guess it won't be that difficult for
you to track her down. Can I ask that you pass on my thanks for her empathy
and concern at a time when I needed it. Very much appreciated.

She is a credit to you so look after her well.

Best wishes
Tracey Moore

Dear Mr Hall

I just wanted to let you know how helpful your staff have been to me today.
I am very surprised at how much patience and care they have shown over the
telephone and think it important i pass feedback on to you.

My husband and I are coming to stay on Friday night - unfortunately my
husband is very sick and i had to check a few things before we arrived. I
asked to be put through to the restaurant to find out what was on the menu
and Layla who answered the phone couldn't have been more helpful or patient
reading out everything to me. I was made to feel that nothing was too much
trouble and she even said she looks forward to seeing us on Friday night, i
was really touched.

My next port of call was to find out if there was enough room in the bedroom
to fit my husbands drip stands and medical equipment - I spoke to a
gentleman called Fiz who advised me which room i should upgrade to and the
reasons why and he then explained everything about the room = i.e. patio,
air conditioning, fridge, coffee machine, shower etc. He was extremely
helpful polite and thoughtful - he really made a focussed effort to make
sure we had everything organised to ensure our stay was as perfect as it
could be.

I would very much appreciate you passing my comments onto Layla and Fiz and
whoever is in charge of training because it appears your staff seem to offer
something very special indeed.

We very much look forward to our stay at the hotel.

Thankyou.

Regards
Annie

Hi Trevor

I've been meaning to contact you, many apologies for my tardiness!

We had a marvellous time at West Lodge Park, thank you so very much! What a lovely hotel and such warm and welcoming staff.

We had a fabulous evening meal along with a very nice bottle of Borollo and were looked after by a charming young man who obviously knew that we were coming and went out of his way to talk to us and make us welcome! The pianist even played our request as his last piece of the evening!

We managed an evening and a morning walk around the grounds - just lovely! I'm sure that the trees will be stunning during the Autumn.

Thank you so very much for all you did to make our stay so special.

Kind regards,

Samantha Sutherland

Hotel Manager

My wife and I stayed at your hotel on October 15th as part of our golden wedding celebrations.

After a lovely meal your restaurant staff presented us with a beautifully prepared ' happy anniversary ' dish.

It was a gesture that we both appreciated and our thanks to all concerned for such a nice thought.

Regards,
Barrie Clark

Dear Sirs

Just a quick message to thank your staff for looking after my mother during her recent stay, which she enjoyed very much. She and her partner particularly enjoyed the evening meal and their walk around the arboretum.

On her return home she was greeted with a surprise family party for her 80th Birthday, which she was completely unaware that we had organised.

Kind Regards

Vince Parkes

I am writing to thank you and your staff for an amazing overnight stay at the hotel on Saturday night. We are a group of old school friends who meet up every year and this was our second stay at West Park Lodge. Every aspect of our stay was 1st class, the staff were brilliant and they all worked so hard to make our stay enjoyable. The two guys managing the restaurant were excellent and the waiting staff in the restaurant were just outstanding.

Please pass on our thanks to all your staff
