Historic buildings, glorious grounds and days out go hand in hand in history-soaked Britain and stunning, ivy-clad Hampton Court Castle is no exception. Surrounded by 1,000 acres of green and glorious Herefordshire countryside grounds, this 15th century medieval attraction is brimming with suits of armour, shields, giant old fireplaces and fabulous antique furniture, its contents silently telling the tale of the castle’s rich history, passing from noble family to noble family via the son of the famous inventor Richard Arkwright. There is always a packed calendar of events at the castle with jousting, eagle and vulture flying displays, country fairs, bird encounters and big band recitals pulling in the crowds regularly. The conservatory is designed by Crystal Palace architect Joseph Paxton and houses the Orangery where you can munch on wholesome, organic food (with many ingredients grown in the kitchen gardens). The castle gardens are a major attraction in themselves so put time aside to explore the many features, some centuries old, some decidedly 21st century, that dot the flower-strewn landscape.

Review of Hampton Court Castle & Gardens
Posted on by J.UBCType of travel: Business
I attended our company conference for a day at Hampton Court in Leominster and due to its location it was truly a memorable experience. Over 600 years of history and English heritage is worth seeing. We stayed here for one night. Room was large & cosy and it gives you a Royal feel from every angle. Excellent food and service. There is also a small Bar. Owners are giving personal attention to make sure that all guests are comfortable and happy all the time. Landscaped Gardens are very good and very well maintained.
