Mount Stewart House, Garden & Temple of the Winds
Mount Stewart House, is situated on the tranquil shores of Strangford Lough, was the home of the Londonderry family since the 18th century. This influential family played a leading role in British political and social life. Inside are works of art that have been collected from around the world on their travels and the famous painting `Hambletonian´ by George Stubbs. In the grounds is the Temple of the Winds, an 18th century octagonal banqueting hall. The gardens are a series of outdoor `rooms´ and also the Dodo Terrace with its concrete animal statue.
