Tredegar House

Tredegar House, a late 17th century mansion, was the ancestral home of the Morgan family and is the finest country house in South Wales. There are no records to identify the builder but it appears to be in the style of Inigo Jones. It was remodelled by the Victorians, who changed the main entrance to the side. The rare `Tredegar Salt´, a silver salt cellar inscribed with the Morgan crest, was discovered and has been returned to the dining room. There is a walled garden, an orangery and an 18th century parterre created from crushed shells, gravel and grass.
