Dunrobin Castle & Museum
Dating from the 13th century, Dunrobin is the most northerly and largest of Scottish houses, with 189 rooms. It has been continuously lived in since the early 1300s. The house was designed by Sir Charles Barry, who also built The Houses of Parliament. There are collections of paintings, furniture, ceremonial robes and Sutherland family artefacts. In the grounds is a Victorian museum with a collection of Pictish stones. The formal gardens have a French theme based on Versailles. Falconry displays can also be seen.
