Bowhill House & Country Park


Bowhill House is the Scottish Borders home of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch, dating from 1812, set in magnificent scenery. Outstanding collections of art, silverware, porcelain and French furniture. Historic relics include Monmouth´s saddle and execution shirt, Sir Walter Scott´s plaid and some proof editions, Queen Victoria´s letters and gifts to successive Duchesses of Buccleuch, her Mistresses of the Robes and the James Hogg Exhibition. The garden and landscape was designed by John Gilpin.
