The house contains an internationally important collection of paintings, which includes works by Blake, El Greco and Murillo. Also displays of silver, period ceramics and furnishings that were collected by Sir William Maxwell. It is the home to the world famous Burrell Collection. The beautifully kept gardens include a collection of over 1000 species of rhododendrons.
Pollok House is part of the following Editors' Picks:
The Ten Best Scottish Fine Art Collections by Ian Sclater
"Set in tranquil parkland, Pollok House is presented today as it would have looked around 1930. Along with period furnishings, silverware and ceramics, there is a fine art collection, including major pieces by the English artist and poet William Blake and one of the finest collections anywhere of Spanish art, including works by El Greco, Goya and Murillo."
