Sutton Park


Built in the 18th century by Thomas Atkinson, Sutton Park is the home of Sir Reginald and Lady Sheffield and is a fine example of Georgian architecture with magnificent Rococo plasterwork by Cortese. It houses is an important collection of Meissen and Chelsea porcelain. The Chinese Drawing room has delicate oriental wallpaper while the Tea Room is painted in imitation tortoiseshell. Also a rich collection of 18th century furniture, paintings and needlework. The gardens are a mix of formal and country garden with rare and interesting plants plus a fernery and pond garden.
