Coughton Court

Coughton Court is one of England´s finest Tudor houses and the home of the Throckmorton family since 1409. The house has close connections to the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 and a Roman Catholic theme runs through the family history. The Tudor gatehouse was built in 1530 with the north and south wings added later. On display are an excellent collection of family portraits from Tudor times to the present day, and family memorabilia, furniture, porcelain, books and tapestries. The 25 acres of grounds include a Formal Garden, Elizabethan Knot Garden, Bog Garden, Orchard and a 1 acre walled garden.
