Parham House & Gardens

Parham House: This beautiful Elizabethan house is set in the heart of a medieval deer park at the foot of the South Downs. The foundation stone was laid in 1577 by the two year old Thomas Palmer. It is reputed Queen Elizabeth dined at Parham in 1593 and her coat of arms were later painted in plaster on the wall of the impressive Great Hall. The spectacular Long Gallery stretches 160 feet in length and is the third longest in England. The house contains an important collection of furniture, paintings and needlework. Flowers from the delightful four acre walled garden have traditionally been used to decorate the rooms in the house for visitors to enjoy.
