Clandon Park was built by the Venetian architect Leoni in the 1730s and is considered to have one of the finest Marble Halls in Europe. The house is filled with an amazing collection of 18th century furniture, porcelain, textiles and carpets acquired in the 1920s by the connoisseur Mrs Gubbay. Also on display is the Ivo Forde Meissen collection of Italian comedy figures and a series of Mortlake tapestries. It is also the home of the Queen´s Royal Surrey Regiment Museum. The attractive gardens contain a grotto, sunken Dutch garden and a fascinating Maori Meeting House.
