Discover, Buscot Park, a magnificent stately mansion and intimate family home
The home of Lord Faringdon, 18th century Buscot Park in Oxfordshire is one of those glorious English country estates that whisk you back through the centuries as you wander in awe at the beautiful paintings and plates, pots and urns, furniture and fabrics. If you’ve the time before you visit, take a look at Buscot’s website in which Lord Faringdon himelf explains the history by which he came to live in the house in a rather lovely and funny way – it adds to the enjoyment of your visit. Of course, each (often boldly coloured) room is a treasure trove of antiques. The Buscot Collection can boast works by Rembrandt, Reynolds, Rubens, van Dyck and Murillo plus Burne Jones and Rossetti and the present Lord Faringdon continues to increase his impressive collection. The flower-bedecked grounds need to be fully toured to be appreciated – and there are super little extras like course fishing at the Little Lake, a delightful water garden and stunning frescoes. Don’t miss out on tea and scones in the tearoom, a former stable block.

Buscot Park also has a Garden:
