Bamburgh Castle

Bamburgh Castle: Once the home to the Kings of Northumbria, this site has been occupied since pre-historic times, from earthen fortifications to a Norman Keep, through to the 20th century modifications added by the First Lord Armstrong. Dominating the skyline for miles around it sits atop a basalt outcrop with stunning views over extensive beaches, the Farne Islands ans Holy Island. Discover a superb collection of arms, armour, fine porcelain, china and works of art. The Bamburgh Castle Aviation Artefacts Museum contains a varied collection from both world wars. Trace centuries of history through Archaeology museums collection, including an Anglo-Saxon sword.
