Holkham
Holkham is a classic Palladian mansion built in the mid-1700s by Thomas Coke, the first Earl of Leicester and is home to his descendants. It has a magnificent alabaster entrance hall and the sumptuous state rooms house Roman Statues, fine furniture and paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck, Gainsborough and many others. The Holkham Bygones Collection, housed in the original 19th century stable block, has more than 4,000 items, ranging from working steam engines, vintage cars, tractors and kitchenware. The 3000 acre park has a herd of fallow deer and many species of wildfowl on the lake.
