Nottingham Castle


Situated high above the city, Nottingham Castle is a 17th century Mansion built over 300 years ago, on the site of a medieval castle originally built by William the Conqueror. A vibrant museum that houses a range of collections including historic and contemporary fine art, armour, china and silverware. The Castle is also exhibits many contemporary exhibitions ranging from local artist to touring shows. Tours available to discover the network of caves and hidden passageways underneath the Castle that is surrounded by beautiful Victorian gardens, and provides scenic views across the city and countryside beyond.

Opening Times: Daily, Mar to Sep, 10:00-17:00, Oct to Feb, 11:00-16:00. Closed 24-26 Dec & 1 Jan.
Admission: Joint ticket with The Museum of Nottingham Life: Adult £3.50, Child/Concession £2.00, (under 5´s Free), Family (2 adult and 3 children) £8.00.
Location: Five minutes walk from Nottingham City Centre, easy access from train and bus station.
