Gunby Hall
Gunby Hall is a fine red brick house, dating from 1700 and extended in the 1870s, is situated in one of England´s most remote corners. Many of the rooms are panelled and there is a beautiful oak staircase. The house contains collections of family portraits, furniture and china. Also a model of a Napoleonic battleship made of mutton bones, gnawed into shape by prisoners of war, and an exhibition of Field Marshall Montgomery-Massingberd´s memorabilia. The exquisite walled garden is planted with traditional English vegetables, fruit, flowers and has a dovecot that pre dates the house.
