Penshurst Place & Gardens
Penshurst Place is one of Kent´s loveliest historic houses with family history going back to the 14th century. The oldest part of the house is the Baron´s Hall, built in 1342 with its chestnut beamed roof. A series of Staterooms contain a wonderful collection of portraits, tapestries, furniture, porcelain and armour from the 15th to the 17th centuries. The gardens, first laid out in the 14th century and developed over the years, include a mile of yew hedges.
