Croft Castle is 15th century and has recently had a major refurbishment and has been the home of the Croft family since Doomsday. Fine interiors display period furnishings and paintings, including works by Gainsborough and Lawrence. Many of the books are by members of the Croft family. The gardens have pleasant walks and lime and ancient Spanish chestnut avenues run through the park.
