Stansted Park
Stansted Park is an Edwardian Country House that was gutted by fire in 1900 and reproduced in replica by Sir Reginal Blomfield in 1903. It was acquired by the Earls of Bessborough in 1924 and is very much a 20th century house with an Edwardian interior. Portraits of the family are in the music room and a wonderful display of Dutch ornithological paintings in the staircase hall. The state rooms have some fine family furniture. The servants´ quarters hold a fascinating collection of household artefacts. Stewards wear period costume on Bank Holiday weekends.
