Knightshayes Court
Knightshayes Court, designed by William Burges, is a gothic Victorian building dating from 1869, and a rare survival of his work. The house is entered under a carved porch by Thomas Nicholls. Much of the decoration was by J G Crace, with his wallpapers and fabrics, depicting flowers and butterflies. On display are a collection of family portraits, furniture and 17th-century majolica, and also the original designs by Burges. The garden features a lily pond, topiary and rare shrubs.
