Castle Drogo was designed by Sir Edward Lutyens and built of granite in the early 20th century for millionaire Julius Drewe. The interior includes family portraits, oak fittings and furniture by Lutyens. The library and billiards room contain tapestries and large Axminster carpets. One room is kept as a memorial to Adrian Drewe who was killed at Ypres. The delightful formal garden has scenic views over Dartmoor and many fine walks.
