Holker Hall & Gardens

Holker Hall shows the confidence, spaciousness and prosperity of Victorian style on its grandest scale, Holker Hall can trace its foundations back to the beginning of the 16th century. Today, the red sandstone wing of the house is a remarkable reflection of that age. Built following the disastrous fire of 1871, its magnificent library and outstanding craftmanship vie for attention with the Regulator Clock, Linen Fold Panelling and grand hand-carved cantilver staircase. The gardens are a riot of colour and texture covering 25 acres and include a limestone cascade, fountain, sunken garden, and an abundance of rare and exotic plants.
