Chirk Castle
Chirk Castle is the only Edwardian fortress in North Wales to have been continuously occupied since it was built in the 14th century. The elegant state rooms house elaborate plasterwork, Adam-style furniture, tapestries and portraits, and a collection of arms and armour. A lot of the features are from different eras, like the medieval tower and dungeon and 18th century Servants´ Hall. The formal garden has clipped yews and rose garden, also a rock garden and shrubbery. The parkland has many mature trees and elaborate gates made in 1719.
