Floors Castle
Floors Castle, the largest inhabited castle in Scotland, is home to the Duke of Roxburghe. Designed and built by William Adam, it was begun in 1721 and transformed by Playfair in 1849 by adding domes and spires. The interiors are filled with outstanding collections of French 17th and 18th century furniture, magnificent tapestries, Chinese and European porcelain and many other fine works of art, enhanced with family photographs and home grown plants. The parkland and gardens overlook the River Tweed and include walled gardens with herbaceous borders and a parterre.
