Pollok House
Pollok House is set in the grounds of Pollok Park, home to the Maxwell family for over 600 years. The present house, (c.1750) replaced three earlier structures and was extended in 1890. The house contains an internationally important collection of paintings, which includes works by Blake, El Greco and Murillo. Also displays of silver, period ceramics and furnishings that were collected by Sir William Maxwell. It is the home to the world famous Burrell Collection. The beautifully kept gardens include a collection of over 1000 species of rhododendrons.
