Stonor Park


Stonor Park has been the historic family home of the Stonor family, for over 800 years. The House and Chapel date from the 12th century with later additions. Inside there are rare furnishings, paintings, bronzes, silhouettes and sculptures. The dining room is hung with 19th century French wallpaper and the study has Old Master drawings by Tiepolo and Carracci. In the library are ancient missals, prayer books and Bibles along with an exhibition celebrating St Edmund Campion who took refuge here during the Reformation. The hillside gardens overlook the house and parkland.
