Kingston Bagpuize House
Kingston Bagpuize House is a beautiful 1660s manor house, remodelled in the early 1770s. The drawing room was once the entrance hall, which is now at the rear of the house. The cantilevered staircase, of pine and oak, is its finest feature, and on the walls are panels of hand painted Chinese wallpaper. The library has a collection of pictures of the children of the family, and the fine panelled rooms have good furniture. The gardens set in mature parkland, contain a collection of plants, rare trees and shrubs and an 18th century panelled pavilion with views of the house. Wheelchair access is only to the garden.
