Sudeley Castle & Gardens
Once the property of King Ethelred the Unready and home to Queen Katherine Parr it has Royal connections spanning thousands of years. The castle was acquired in 1837 by the Dent Brothers, and Sir Gilbert Scott was commissioned for the restoration. The rooms were filled with Gothic fittings and furnishings. In 1855 it passed to John and Emma Dent, who was a great collector and historian, and much of the restoration of that time is down to her. Acres of magnificent gardens with roses, yew hedges and a Tudor Knot Garden.
