Prideaux Place
Prideaux Place, situated above the port of Padstow, has been the home of the Prideaux-Brune family for over 400 years. It is a mixture of Elizabethan, Georgian and Regency Gothic. Fine paintings and furniture are on display including two exotic Rococo mirrors in the drawing room. The screen in the Dining Room is filled with marquetry and its panels crowded with foliage. In the Great Chamber is a 16th century ceiling that was hidden under another until recently discovered. Surrounded by gardens, currently undergoing massive restoration, with Classical Temple and wooded grounds overlooking the deer park. Featured in the BBC´s Antiques Roadshow 2006.
