Speke Hall, Garden and Estate
Speke Hall is a half-timbered house with a moat dating from 16th century, with the inside spanning many periods. The Great Hall and priest hole are Tudor while the Oak Parlour and smaller rooms are Victorian. This rambling house has an interesting collection of carved furniture, tapestries and Jacobean plasterwork. Some of the smaller rooms are hung with William Morris wallpapers showing the Victorian desire for comfort. Also on display is the Victorian kitchen and servants´ hall. In the restored garden there is a rose garden, summer border, a stream garden and woodland walks.
