Lamport Hall & Gardens

Lamport Hall & Gardens has been the home of the Isham family from 1560 to 1976, and was built by John Webb. There is a photographic record of the last member of the family to live there, Sir Gyles Isham, a Hollywood actor, on the first floor. The Cabinet Room, formally a chapel, houses a rare collection of Italian and Flemish cabinets. Also on display are an outstanding collection of furniture china, and paintings by Van Dyck, Kneller and Lely. The Hall stands on a hill and has a famous rockery created by the 10th Baronet.
