The Manor
Built about 1130, The Manor is one of the oldest continuously inhabited houses in the country. Here the author Lucy Boston based her Green Knowe books and readers feel that they are walking into the books. In the winter Lucy Boston sewed exquisite patchworks. They form the only collection of this calibre worldwide, which can be seen in the house where they were made. The 3 1/2 acre garden contains topiary, old roses and mixed herbaceous borders filled with mainly scented plants of year-round interest. It is bordered by the river Great Ouse and surrounded by wilderness full of wild life.
