West Wycombe Park


The house at West Wycombe Park is among the most theatrical and Italianate in England, its facades formed as classical temples. It is the home of the Hell-Fire Club and was created by Sir Francis Dashwood. The interior has Palmyrene ceilings and decoration, with pictures. Also fine furniture, sculpture and Brussels tapestries dating from the time of Sir Francis Dashwood. The Rococo landscaped garden with its lakes and temples, was created in the mid-18th century.
