Started with nine-holes in 1985, the present 6,413-yard par 72 course evolved after the war to become one of the leading venues for R and A, English men’s and women’s and South West championships. The four par threes are features. The back to back 164-yard sixth and 130-yard seventh, are followed by the demanding 527-yard ninth dog-leg played through an avenue of trees to the clubhouse. The 13th is an unforgettable drop hole of 222-yards and the 178-yard 17th plays to a plateau green. Largely flat apart from two sharp climbs on 14 and 16, the practice facilities are exemplary.
