West Sussex Golf Club

Situated on the edge of the South Downs, the heathland West Sussex course was only created in 1930 but has become established as one of the leading venues in the South and maintains traditional standards. Although only spanning 6,200 yards, par 68, from the back tees, seven tough par fours exceeding 400 yards follow the easy opening par five. The course is always well manicured and is never wet as it is on the sand belt. Clever bunkering prompts the strategic use of irons off some tees, especially on the doglegs that went through birch, oak and pine trees. Certainly a thinking man’s course of high quality, brilliantly colourful in spring and autumn
