Worplesdon Golf Club
Worplesdon is another quality Surrey heather-gorse-and fir tree course that makes the area such a golfing paradise. It has changed little since F J Abercromby produced the plans in 1907. The par threes are a feature – the 139-yard tenth demanding a carry over a large lake to a three-tier green while the well-bunkered 175-yard 13th requires precision off the tee. The 405 yard fifth needs a mid to long iron directly to the tree-framed green to avoid bunkers and a grass gully at the front. The 527-yard 11th is a memorable hole through the trees. Immaculate fairways sand perfect greens complete a fine lay out in a quiet location
