Walton Heath Golf Club

Walton Heath, whose captain was once Edward VIII, boast two courses, the Old and New, and has a links feel although set in the heart of Surrey. Heather borders the fairway and some carries over heather beds require length and accuracy. The new and old courses, both designed by Herbert Fowler in 1902, are intertwined. Several tough holes, particularly on the principal Old course, fast and true greens with subtle borrows, over a natural layout with strategic bunkering, penal rough and a varied selection of holes, demand high quality play. The club has hosted many important competitions, among them the 1981 Ryder Cup when the victorious US team read like a who’s who of golf.
