Thorpeness Hotel & Golf Club

Gorse and heather make Thorpeness a real test although it is only 6,271 yards from the back tees. A gentle par four opener is followed by a cracking par three with a heavily-bunkered narrow green. The next is considered the signature hole as it wends its way around the tributary of Thorpeness Mere, which is out of bounds. Look out for the windmill and the amazing house in the sky. Designed by James Braid in 1922, the coastal heathland course, close to the sea, meanders through silver birch and pines. There are plenty of difficult holes and doglegs that require careful attention.
